If you're injured, this isn't the right program for you ⚠️
If you’re currently injured, dealing with chronic joint pain, or have heart issues—this program isn’t the right fit as it stands.

That doesn’t mean we can’t help you. It just means that Soul Active was designed for the general population—people who are healthy enough to train without restrictions and want optimal results in a group format.

Understanding Pain

Know Your Pain

Not all pain is bad—but some signals mean you need to stop immediately.
As your trainer and guide, it’s my job to help you understand what’s normal, what’s not, and when to rest, adjust, or seek help.

✅ Good Pain (You Want This)

These are signs your muscles are working and adapting:

1. Muscle Burn 🔥
You feel it during the exercise. It’s a warm, burning sensation in the muscles you're working. This is normal. It means you're challenging your body.

2. Muscle Soreness (DOMS) 💪
Stiffness or soreness a day or two after training. It's your muscles recovering and getting stronger. Totally normal.

❌ Bad Pain (Stop Immediately)

These are not okay. These are warning signs of injury or risk. Always stop and reassess.

3. Sharp or Sudden Pain 🚫
A quick, stabbing pain—like hitting your toe on a wall. If you feel this in a joint or muscle while training, stop right away. Continuing could cause real injury.

4. Chronic Pain 🛑
Pain you’ve had for weeks or months. Never try to “push through” this. Chronic pain needs professional attention and a personalized program. Talk to me—we’ll help.

⚠️ Other Warning Signs (Listen to Your Body)

These aren’t always “pain,” but they’re serious and must be taken seriously.

5. Muscle Cramps ⚡
Sudden tightening or spasms—common in calves or hamstrings.
What to do:

  • Gently stretch the area

  • Hydrate (water and electrolytes)

  • Breathe and rest

6. Side Stitch (Running Cramp)
A sharp pain in your side, usually when running.
What to do:

  • Slow down or stop

  • Breathe deeply

  • Massage the area

  • Walk it out

7. Headache 🤕
Can be caused by dehydration, poor breathing, or tension.
What to do:

  • Stop your workout

  • Drink water

  • Breathe deeply

  • Rest in a cool place
    If it doesn't go away soon, don’t continue.

8. Dizziness or Lightheadedness 😵
May be from not eating enough, dehydration, or overexertion.
What to do:

  • Sit or lie down

  • Breathe slowly

  • Drink water

  • Eat something light if needed
    Never keep training through dizziness.

9. Nausea or Upset Stomach 🤢
Common if you eat too close to working out, push too hard, or overheat.
What to do:

  • Stop immediately

  • Sit down and rest

  • Sip water slowly

  • Avoid lying flat—stay slightly upright

 

🧠 Bonus: Mental or Emotional Strain

10. Overwhelm or Anxiety 😓
If you feel mentally overwhelmed or anxious during a workout, that's okay—it’s common, especially for beginners.
What to do:

  • Pause and breathe

  • Remind yourself: It’s okay to start slow

  • Restart only if you feel safe

  • Reach out for support

Pain and warning signs aren’t weaknesses—they’re signals. Learn to listen.
